India vs Bangladesh

After securing three consecutive victories in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India are all set to face Bangladesh at Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Notably, it will be the first World Cup 2023 match to be played in Pune. The Rohit Sharma-led team is riding the wave, having scored comprehensive wins over Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

On the other hand, Bangladesh have won just one game out of three they have played so far in the tournament. The Bangla Tigers have appeared lackluster against quality sides and are currently placed at the seventh position on the points table with two points.

Doubts looms over Shakib Al Hasan's fitness. The Bangladesh skipper hurt himself in the last game.

9:25 pm- Another chase, another win for India, another century for Virat Kohli. Towards the end, it was never about whether India would win, but only about whether the modern-day master would reach three figures.

India now join New Zealand on four wins in the World Cup, and the two sides are set to meet on Sunday in Dharamsala, for what promises to be a humdinger. For now, the Men in Blue will celebrate.

9:24 pm- INDIA WIN! Kohli comes down the track to meet this on the full, and he smashes Nasum Ahmed over mid-wicket to finish the chase, and go past three figures! India 261/3 in 41.3 overs (Kohli 103*, Rahul 34*)

8:57 pm- Virat Kohli has anchored yet another chase in ODI cricket, and now he needs to make sure he sees this through to the end. There's a century for the taking for him as well. Just 51 more required. India 206/3 in 35 overs (Kohli 66*, Rahul 17*)

KL Rahul is the new batter.

8:33 pm- WICKET! That's the third wicket to fall, and the third one to an attacking shot. Like Gill, Shreyas tries to smash Miraz into the next city but doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball. It goes high rather than long, and he holes out in the deep. India 178/3 in 29.1 overs (Kohli 56*, Shreyas 19)

8:15 pm- Nothing much to report in terms of a change in the match situation. India are looking extremely comfortable at the moment, and should wrap this chase up without any major hiccups. Under 100 required now, with half the innings left. India 161/2 in 25 overs (Kohli 42*, Shreyas 16*)

In comes Shreyas Iyer.

7:53 pm- WICKET! Gill was looking to take on the off-spinner Miraz. Comes down the wicket and tries to muscle this over cow corner, but only finds Mahmudullah on the boundary rope, who does well to avoid stepping on the boundary cushions. India 132/2 in 19.2 overs (Kohli 29*, Gill 53).

7:31 pm- Kohli was welcomed to the crease with a couple of free hits off his first two balls, and India have continued to march along here. Thhe chase still looks very much in control. India 111/1 in 15 overs (Kohli 20*, Gill 41*).

Virat Kohli is the new batter.

7:20 pm- WICKET! Hasan Mahmud has been persistent with the short ball, despite Rohit Sharma looking comfortable against it. He takes on the youngster yet again, but only hits it to the fielder in the deep who takes a good running catch at square leg. India 88/1 in 12.4 overs (Rohit 48, Gill 40*).

7:07 pm- This opening pair have been sensational for India, and Bangladesh haven't looked like stopping either of them. Gill has upped the ante in the last few overs, matching Rohit for intent. India 63/0 in 10 overs (Rohit 37*, Gill 26*)

6:50 pm- As usual, Rohit Sharma has begun positively, taking the attack to the bowlers. He's also taken most of the strike, as Shubman Gill is adopting a more patient approach. It's yet another solid start for India. India 33/0 in 5 overs (Rohit 27*, Gill 6*)

6:28 pm- So here comes the Indian chase. This is the second-highest target set for the Men in Blue in this World Cup, and the one higher than this was chased in just 35 overs. Could we see a repeat today? Rohit Sharma is on strike, and Shoriful Islam has the ball in hand. Hint of shape back in, defended well. India 0/0 in 0.1 overs (Rohit 0*, Gill 0*)

Join us back after the innings break.

5:59 pm- A six over extra over by Shoriful to end the innings. Bangladesh finish at 256/8 in their 50 overs. Good recovery from India after being put under pressure early on. Bangladesh 256/8 in 50 overs (Mustafizur 1*, Shoriful 7*)

Shoriful Islam is the new batter.

5:55 pm- WICKET! Bumrah bowls right up in the blackhole as Mahmudullah gets cleaned up. Bangladesh 248/8 in 49.2 overs (Mustafizur, 0*, Shoriful 0*)

Mustafizur Rahman is Bangladesh's No.9.

5:40 pm- WICKET! A nick and Rahul takes a rather straightforward catch. Siraj sends Nasum packing. Bangladesh 233/7 in 46.5 overs (Mahmudullah 32*, Mustafizur 0*)

5:28 pm- Bangladesh have lost the plot. They are going to end up below par. With Mahmudullah still there, a total of 250-255 is possible. Bangladesh 210/6 in 45 overs (Mahmudullah 19*, Nasum 4*)

Nasum Ahmed joins Mahmudullah in the middle.

5:15 pm- WICKET! Another fielding brilliance from India. Jadeja flies mid-air at backward point to hold onto a brilliant catch as Bumrah dismisses Mushfiqur. Pakistan 201/6 in 42.3 overs (Mahmudullah 14*, Nasum 0*)

Mahmudullah is out in the centre.

4:54 pm- WICKET! You just cannot take Shardul lightly. Towhid sees an opportunity to get some runs but perishes in his bid to attack. Bangladesh 179/5 in 37.2 overs (Mushfiqur 30*, Mahmudullah 0*)

4:51 pm- Quiet bit of play. Not much is happening from the either end. India would be happier as they have managed to tie down the batters. Bangladesh 178/4 in 37 overs (Towhid 16*, Mushfiqur 29*)

4:30 pm- Mushfiqur has started to open up but there is still a long way to go for Bangladesh. The pitch is not doing much and 290-300 would be a competitive total. Bangladesh 156/4 in 32 overs (Hridoy 9*, Mushfiqur 15*)

Mushfiqur Rahim walks out to bat.

4:09 pm- WICKET! Das aims to break the shackles, Looks to target the extra cover area but ended up hitting the ball straight down the throat of the long-on fielder as Jadeja runs into the Bangladesh middle-order. Bangladesh 137/4 in 27.4 overs (Hridoy 5*, Mushfiqur 0*)

Towhid Hridoy comes to the crease.

3:55 pm- WICKET! KL RAHULLL, YOU BEAUTY. Nothing delivery from Siraj on the leg stump. Miraz tries to flick it away but Rahul puts in a superman dive to his left to take a stunning catch. India 129/3 in 24.1 overs (Das 63*, Hridoy 0*)

3:45 pm- 50 for DAS! This is his maiden ODI half-century versus India. Bangladesh 113/2 in 20.5 overs (Das 50*, Mehidy 1*)

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is in at No.4.

3:40 pm- WICKET! Another LBW, another Indian spinner. It's Ravindra Jadeja this time. The ball skids on as Shanto gets deceived by pace and gets hit on his left leg. Bangladesh 110/2 in 20 overs (Das 48*, Miraz 0*)

Najmul Hossain Shanto is the new batter.

3:20 pm- WICKET! Kuldeep strikes. Hasan is given out LBW. Bangladesh 93/1 in 14.4 overs (Das 39, Shanto 0*)

3:14 pm- 50 FOR HASAN! He has leading Bangladesh's charge. Bangladesh 89/0 in 13.5 overs (Hasan 50*, Das 36*)

Kuldeep Yadav is ready to start his spell.

2:57 pm- Bangladesh had scored 10 runs in first overs. They scored 53 in the next five. India have been thumped and how. Bangladesh 63/0 in 10 overs (Hasan 40*, Das 21*)

Another change in bowling. Shardul Thakur to close the first powerplay.

Hardik Pandya comes in to the attack and he has injured his foot. He has walking off the field. Not so good signs for India. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been handed the ball. He will complete the over.

2:40 pm- Bangladesh are now gunning. Runs are flowing with Indian bowlers deviating from control. Bangladesh 37/0 in 8 overs (Hasan 23*, Das 12*)

2:34 pm- SIX! Bumrah bowls a bouncer. Hasan gets on top of the ball, helps it on its way and brings up the first maximum of the innings. Bangladesh 27/0 in 7 overs (Hasan 15*, Das 11*)

2:24 pm- This has been some spell by Bumrah and Siraj. No bad deliveries were offered whatsoever. Bangladesh 10/0 in 5 overs (Hasan 9*, Das 1*)

Mohammed Siraj will bowl from the other end.

2:06 pm- Tidy start from Bumrah. Just one run comes off the first over. Bangladesh 1/0 in 1 overs (Hasan 1*, Das 0*)

IND vs BAN Predictions, tips and betting odds

If we talk about the last four ODI matches between these two Asian sides, Bangladesh have shown their dominance by securing three victories, while India only have managed to win once. However, the pitch in Pune will assist both spinners and pacers, unlike the pitches in Bangladesh where there is no help for the pacers.

India's record at the Pune stadium is somewhat decent, having won three out of four ODIs played here. Nevertheless, considering the form of the hosts, it can easily be said that they are miles ahead than Bangladesh. But this the World Cup of upsets. Who knows, we may get to see Bangladesh pulling off another heist.
