The big clash between India and Pakistan at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy will begin at 2 pm local time. Rain threatens to hamper the game, but the forecast is not as gloomy as it was a week ago.
This will be the first time since the 2019 World Cup that India and Pakistan will play an ODI. The last time the two teams met in a 50-over game, in England, India emerged victorious by 89 runs, after managing 336-5 in the first innings.

This will be Pakistan’s second game of the ongoing Asia Cup, after having defeated Nepal in the opener by a record margin of 238 runs. India, on the other hand, will open their account in the competition on Saturday, and will then play Nepal on September 4 (Monday).
Pakistan have already announced their playing XI for the clash and will go in unchanged from their previous clash. For India, KL Rahul has been ruled out due to a niggle, and Ishan Kishan is likely to replace him in the final XI.
