Almost all the economists calling for an interest rate rise as soon as next week now concede the Reserve Bank of Australia’s next move will be a cut, after new data showed underlying inflation eased last quarter.
Trimmed mean inflation, the RBA’s preferred measure of underlying price pressures, eased to 3.9 per cent in June from 4 per cent in March, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.
