Ipswich Town vs. Man United final score: Premier League result ...
Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town on Sunday as new head coach Ruben Amorim failed to secure the win he wanted in his first Premier League match in charge.
The Red Devils went ahead through Marcus Rashford inside 90 seconds at Portman Road, prompting delirium among the way fans as they chanted the new boss' name with gusto.
Yet Ipswich, who won at Tottenham prior to the international break, deservedly levelled through the excellent Omari Hutchinson's deflected strike before halftime as United failed to build on their good early work.
The Red Devils controlled possession in the second half but chances were scarce for the visitors in particular, the game resembling more of a training exercise for the United players as they got to grips with Amorim's 3-4-3 system.
With his team 12th in the standings and eight points off the top four, Amorim will want his players to acclimatise quickly if he is to salvage something from this season.

United started in blistering fashion as Amad Diallo, deployed as right wing-back, surged down the wing and picked out Rashford with a cross, the United forward getting in front of goalkeeper Arijanet Muric to convert.
The visitors looked bright in possession in the early exchanges but soon returned to hold habits as they allowed Ipswich to grow into the game, and only a stunning Andre Onana save denied Liam Delap from point-blank range.
Kieran McKenna's side deservedly levelled before halftime, Hutchinson's powerful strike from the edge of the box deflecting off the head of Noussair Mazraoui and ending up in the top corner.
The rigor of the first half did not persist in the second, with United largely dictating possession but creating very few clear-cut chances. Indeed, Delap came off second best in another duel with Onana when his flicked attempt at the near post was kept out by the keeper.
Bruno Fernandes whipped a free-kick narrowly wide and Amad's jinking run ended in a blocked shot, but there was a clear stalemate as Ipswich worked hard without the ball and United looked a team trying to get used to their new manager's ideas.
The biggest positive for United in the second half was the return to action of Luke Shaw, who last played for the club in February. The club's persistent injury problems made Erik ten Hag's job increasingly difficult, and Amorim will hope he does not have to endure the same.
The Portuguese was not unhappy with the performance, even if the result was not what he wanted. After all, this was only the first step on what he hopes will be a long and successful journey.
"They want this," he said of his players on Sky Sports after the match. "Sometimes, they don't know how to get it." His first big task is to help them figure that out.

Amorim doesn't get the winning start he wanted, but things certainly could have been worse. Ipswich were good value for their point after levelling before halftime, although the second half was largely a non-event.
90+2 mins: Amad shows terrific poise to dribble into the box, but his shot hits a blue shirt and United must build again.
90 mins: We'll have at least four minutes added on here. Will we see a winner?
87 mins: Chance for Conor Chaplin! Jack Clarke does well to keep the ball in play and pulls it back towards the penalty spot. Chaplin gets to it, but he's under pressure, and the ball ends up safely in Onana's gloves.
86 mins: There are clear boos as Amorim takes off Garnacho for Mason Mount. Erik ten Hag was sometimes criticised for his use of the winger, too, but to be fair to Amorim, Garnacho was looking very tired.
79 mins: Fernandes wins a free-kick right in the middle on the edge of the box. The United captain whips a shot narrowly wide from the dead ball. Ipswich are living just a little dangerously here.
77 mins: United work the ball well in the Ipswich half, and space opens up for Zirzkee 25 yards out. With few other options, he tries a shot, and then presumably wishes he hadn't. That ball nearly cleared the stand.
74 mins: With around 20 minutes to go here, we're still in a stalemate. United are controlling the ball, but Ipswich are keeping them comfortably at arm's length. It feels like one more goal will be enough to win this game.
67 mins: Interesting move from Amorim as he brings on both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Rashford and Eriksen depart, the former having just won United a corner. It came to nothing.
64 mins: Things have quietened down again here. United are largely controlling possession, but a long way from Ipswich's goal. They need more from Rashford here, who has been largely anonymous since that very early opener.
56 mins: Two changes for United, which includes the return of Luke Shaw, who last played for his club in February. He's on for Evans, while Manuel Ugarte replaces Casemiro.

— Manchester United (@ManUtd) November 24, 202454 mins: Ipswich get caught out as Fernandes robs Hutchinson and finds Garnacho, who has a clear run towards the penalty area. Jens Cajuste tracks him all the way and makes a fine tackle.
52 mins: Onana denies Delap again! The forward turns away from De Ligt and powers into the United half, playing the ball wide to Burns and continuing into the box. The low cross finds him inside the six-yard box, but his attempted flicked finish is kept out by the United keeper.
46 mins: United almost start the second as they did the first! Fernandes' well-weighted pass plays in Garnacho, but Muric gets down to make a good save from a tight angle.
Kickoff: Second halfUnited undergo a warm-up on the pitch shortly before the restart. Maybe these sprinting drills might wake up the players a little bit — they allowed the game to drift after that good start.
HalftimeIt's level at the break, which feels like a fair scoreline. United started blisteringly but just didn't do enough to build on it, and Ipswich fully deserve to be on an even keel.
43 mins: GOAL! HUTCHINSON BRINGS US LEVEL! What were we saying about Ipswich's No. 20? He turns into space 18 yards out and bends a powerful strike towards goal. It glances off the head of Noussair Mazraoui, and the deflection is enough to take the ball beyond Onana's reach.

— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) November 24, 202442 mins: There's an interesting situation here in that VAR is presently out of action because a fire alarm has gone off at the Stockley Park base. Any contentious decisions will have to be sorted out by the match officials.
40 mins: IT SHOULD BE 1-1! Moments after a good chance for Dalot, Delap has the whole goal to aim at from six yards out after being picked out by Davis, but he blasts it straight down the middle Onana makes a great block. What an opportunity for Ipswich.
36 mins: Fernandes plays a great ball through to Garnacho on the break, but his old United teammate Axel Tuanzebe keeps pace in the foot race and wins back the ball. Excellent defending.
32 mins: Hutchinson again! Davis' deep corner is nodded back across goal and the ball drops to Hutchinson, but Diogo Dalot is in the way to block his shot. United have given up that early control they had and could do with a spell of possession.
28 mins: Liam Delap is clattered by Jonny Evans on the edge of the box and Hutchinson has the chance to test Onana... but his effort is a comfortable save for the keeper.
24 mins: Omari Hutchinson has looked bright for the home side, and it feels like he will be at the heart of any possible comeback today. At the moment, though, his best work is being done too far from United's goal to constitute a threat.
18 mins: United are in control at the moment. A nice move involving Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho ends with the latter curling a shot wide of the left-hand post. The vociferous home crowd from before kickoff has gone a little quiet now.
11 mins: Good save, Onana! Ipswich have looked a threat through Wes Burns down the right, and this time, his cross finds its way to Sam Szmodics on the edge of the box. He controls his first-time strike, but Andre Onana gets down well to parry. It's been a good game so far.
7 mins: Chance for Eriksen! Amad cuts in from the left and tees up the midfielder on the edge of the box, but his first-time shot curls wide. He should really have hit the target. Amad is causing Leif Davis plenty of early grief.
5 mins: Ipswich have responded well to that setback, although a corner won off Amad is well headed away by Casemiro. The United fans are thoroughly enjoying themselves already.
2 mins: GOAL! RASHFORD SCORES INSIDE TWO MINUTES! Talk about a dream start for the new boss! Amad Diallo, starting as the right wing-back, surges down the wing after riding a tackle and crosses towards the six-yard box. Rashford gets there ahead of Arijanet Muric and turns the ball into the net.

It looks as though Amorim is going with the favoured 3-4-3 system he used at Sporting CP, although the lineup is one that looks adaptable in terms of formation.
The apparent back three includes Jonny Evans and Noussair Mazraoui. Lisandro Martinez is out due to the back trouble that kept him out of Argentina's games this month, while Victor Lindelof also suffered an injury on international duty, and Harry Maguire is still sidelined.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are finally back in the squad, although they are only on the bench. Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount are also among the substitutes.
Marcus Rashford looks to be leading the line.
