Radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson has been forced off the air and taken to hospital after experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack.

The 48-year-old started to feel unwell about mid-way through KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning and decided to have a lay down.

Co-host Kyle Sandilands later revealed Henderson had to be taken by a staff member to the "emergency room" for medical assistance as a precaution.

"She just stepped out for a lay down. She's got like a corset dress on and she had an operation yesterday," the shock jock explained to listeners.

Henderson had revealed at the beginning of the show she visited a gynaecologist on Monday where a doctor had to remove a growth that was attached to her uterus.

The procedure was to take out a uterine polyp, which is common in women who are going through or have completed menopause, according to medical websites.

Dr Sam Hay - who has a fortnightly segment on the show - was questioned later by the hosts if the mother-of-one was experiencing heart attack symptoms.

"Jackie has started to feel shooting pains down her left arm the day after the surgery," Sandilands said.

The mother of one added she was also experiencing "chest pain".

"But I don't feel short of breath. I was nauseous before. The pain is dull down the arm," she said.

Dr Hay suggested Henderson visit a doctor if symptoms continued.

Sandilands then told fellow radio legend John Laws the mother-of-one was "not herself" and only had "one hour of sleep" prior to the show.

"She's got all these pains down her arm and chest pains. I've had to let her go home early," he said to Laws, who had earlier hung up on the duo prior to an appearance.

Laws was scheduled for an interview with the Sydney show but was left unhappy with the ongoing chat about Henderson's procedure minutes before he was due on air.

"Yesterday I had an operation and was under general anesthetic so I couldn't sleep during the night," Henderson said earlier, as she opened further on the health issue.

"I had a uterine polyp removed. The doctor said it would make my periods more regular."

The mother-of-one then wondered what she would "look like on the operating table, nude and wearing a shower cap" and spoke about a "hot nurse".

The executive producer then interrupted Henderson and Sandilands' chat, telling them that Laws had hung up after being left "offended" about their "vagina" conversation.

The pair were left stunned and called the 88-year-old back, with his assistant answering and saying Laws did not want to come on following the hosts' discussion.

"No I'm not going to talk. G'day Kyle, hope you're well. To hell with it," the radio legend said in the background.

Henderson tried to clarify it was a medical procedure.

"I know but its the way you talk about it. I'm not interested," Laws added, before his assistant hung up on the pair for a second time.

The 88-year-old later appeared back on the show when Sandilands cold called and told him that Henderson had been taken to hospital for medical assistance.
