Four byes way down the leg side to end the over. That's got to hurt.

At least Cummins can drown his sorrows in some electrolytes.

It's a case of garbage getting wickets I'm afraid, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, this immense talent, just slapping a short, wide one from Mitch Marsh into the hands of Steve Smith at backward point.

Smith wrestles it in, and Jaiswal has to go, although he can't believe it. There's a bit of Virat Kohli about his reaction actually, and fair enough too. The deliveries he's seen off or punished and then he gets out like that.

Still, we'll not soon forget this dig from one of the brightest Indian talents to grace these shores.

I don't think this will be a long spell for the all-rounder.

He's in for his third over of the spell, and Kohli helps one around the corner for a single.

Oh, what a shot by Virat Kohli. A picture-perfect straight drive back past Cummins and away for four. Can't bowl there to him.

Great response from Cummins as Kohli gets off strike and the Australia captain sends a ball across Jaiswal and beats the outside edge.

Too straight from Cummins and Jaiswal finds a couple to a vacant square leg region. A bit of work to do for Hazlewood to get around from mid-on.

Short and almost pawed through to the keeper by Jaiswal. He thought about nudging it over the slips but withdraws the bat in time.

Bang! Cummins strengthens the leg side and comes around the wicket, but Jaiswal isn't fooled and clatters a full ball through wide mid-off.

Again he starts with a no ball …

The milestones keep coming and the lead ticks over to 347 as Kohli clips a single.

Whoa! A huge charge and lusty slog from Jaiswal. That was into the Swan River if he connected, but he lost his shape a little as the sharp bounce climbed over his top edge.

Virat Kohli has a little word to his young teammate. I'm sure he's not telling him to completely rein it in, but maybe just stay in control.

He starts with a bouncer and Kohli ducks under it easily.

Too full and wide, and Kohli plays that cover drive punch to great effect. Through the air initially, but safely with no cover fielder in place.

Cummins won't mind seeing him fishing outside off. That's why there's a gap at cover.

Cummins finds the edge … and it's just out of reach of a diving Alex Carey! Yashasvi Jaiswal is almost strangled down the leg side as he nudges one off his hip. Carey moved pretty well, but couldn't make up enough ground to get a glove to it. More frustration for Australia.

Mitch Marsh is coming on for his first over of the day. He pulled up short a couple of times yesterday and has been absent today, so I assumed he was hurt. But here he is.

And he starts with a no ball.

Kohli is getting forward and looks superb in defence to the medium pace.

Marsh strays straight and Kohli clips wristily through the leg side for a single.

Jaiswal's walking at Marsh and takes him for a single behind square. Doing whatever he wants out there. Including running down the middle of the pitch. Watch that, young blood.

And Kohli finishes up the over by just helping a wild delivery on its way down the leg side.

Hazlewood is the only bowler who's done anything close to trouble Jaiswal in this dig.

He watches a few go by the off stump. And ducks under a bouncer. He's batting just outside his crease to the consistent and persistent Hazlewood.

And he sees out a maiden. Rock solid. Infuriating for the Aussies.

This prodigious talent doesn't do small tons; only big daddy hundreds.

Jaiswal has never been dismissed between 80 and 171 in Tests.

Now he's chasing a third double ton. And looks nailed on to get there.
