Champion jockey Jamie Kah probed over white powder images
Champion jockey Jamie Kah is being investigated after images emerged of her with a white powder.
The 27-year-old had just announced she plans to return to racing, after a fall in Victoria earlier this year left her with a brain injury.
The terrifying fall at Flemington in March left the Group 1 winner in an induced coma with bleeding on her brain.
Racing Victoria stewards are making enquiries before considering if Kah has breached the rules of racing, under rules that illicit drugs are banned for riders.
The champion is no stranger to controversy after she was one of a number of jockeys slapped with a three month ban for a party at a Mornington Airbnb in 2021, which breached Victoria's lockdown rules.
Of the latest scandal the Victorian Jockey Association said it is aware of the photos and will support the 27-year-old in whatever way she needs.
In response to the images, Kah shared her "disappointment" on social media and said she is instead "determined to focus on my health and recovery following my race fall… which left me with a serious brain injury".
Kah has recently returned to some track work but still needs to undergo a neurological assessment before she's cleared to get back to race days.
Kah's return is now dependent on Racing Victoria's findings.
