Jennifer Keyte has gotten lucky in love at the age of 64.

The Channel Ten newsreader stepped out with her new man at the weekend, attending the Australian Open golf tournament at Kingston Heath, Victoria.

On her arm was handsome medical professor Meng Law, a respected scientific researcher.

'We met through mutual friends and hit it off. He is really amazing,' the television host told the Herald Sun on Sunday.

Law works in the Department of Neuroscience in the School of Translational Medicine at Monash University.

He is Professor of Radiology at the university, as well as Professor of Electrical Engineering & Computer Systems Engineering.

The pair have been dating for eight months, after Keyte previously spent a period single.

Keyte divorced former husband Ben Faggetter in 2009, after 16 years of marriage.

'I think that's a tough time in your life,' she previously said of her divorce in a chat with the Herald Sun.

'It's always difficult when you've been very, very happy and it comes to that.'

Keyte earlier revealed that she was immensely proud of her two sons.

'I am proud. It's wonderful to see James and Zander develop into independent fine young men. It's a matter of letting them go and seeing them broaden their world,' she said.

In May this year, Keyte was still single and admitted she was ready to start looking for love again, perhaps online.

'I am single and I have been encouraged to (go online),' she said at the time.

'I have friends who say I will hold your hand and navigate. A time may come but I'm a reluctant debutant.'

Back in 2019, she discussed just not having 'room' for a love life.

'What do they say — make some room and something will grow? — (but) there hasn't been any room. But maybe one day' she told the Herald Sun.

'I think it would be nice, but it hasn't been a priority. It depends what you need and want in your life.

'As a single mother, my job was the boys' she continued.

'I love my work, my family, my friends, and hopefully one day there will be time for romance. You don't know anyone, do you? I'm not above matchmaking.'

Keyte went on to say that she had been happy focussing on being a career woman for a long time but also loved parenting her sons.

'They're different periods in your life. I loved being a mum and I still love being a mum' she said of motherhood.

'It's just been a joy. It was very easy for me to go part time, to take maternity leave.

'I did miss it, I'd been a worker for 20 years and then had kids. I didn't know who I was without work, so it's important to keep that going as well if you can.'
