John Farnham's son Robert shares photos of music icon on 75th ...

Australian music legend John Farnham has been pictured celebrating his 75th birthday with his family. 

The rock star was seen smiling in photos posted to social media by his son Rob and Rob's wife, Melissa. 

"Happy Birthday Papa J, looking forward to making many more happy memories with you guys," Melissa shared.

Rob also posted a sweet image of the "birthday boy".

The images, shared on Instagram, attracted well wishes in the comments section.

"What an icon, Brings me so much joy seeing recent photos of him after his major surgery," one user wrote.

"Happy birthday to the most magnificent voice I've ever heart," another commented.

"Happy birthday to the man who everyone loves to bits," another said.

Farnham's public appearances have been sporadic since his cancer operation in August 2022.

But last month, photos emerged from Farnham's first public outing since he underwent an 11-and-a-half-hour surgery to remove a tumour from his mouth.

The musician was pictured at the February wedding of Robert and Melissa.

In a health update one year after the marathon surgery, Farnham revealed he was cancer-free and told fans he was "the luckiest man I know".

"I'm home now and I'm a very grateful and happy man," he said.

Farnham is one of Australia's most successful performers, with his 1986 album Whispering Jack selling more than 1.6 million copies.

He was named Australian of the Year in 1987, and has won 19 ARIA awards over his five-decade career.
