Fans have been excited over the possibility of Australian tennis power couple Alex de Minaur and Brit Katie Boulter getting engaged.

The Australian world number 10 and England world number 54 have been together since the start of 2020 and if the keen observations of some eagle-eyed fans are to be believed, they may have taken their relationship to the next level.

Neither de Minaur nor Boulter have made an announcement, but the latter was seen wearing what looked like an engagement ring on her ring finger during her partner’s devastating five-set loss to Andrey Rublev on Sunday night.

It sent those who noticed it into an uproar on social media.

“KATIE BOULTER AND ALEX DE MINUAR ENGAGED!!! He gave him a ring!” declared one fan confidently.

“Is Katie Boulter wearing an engagement ring?” another posed.

It’s unclear how long Boulter has been wearing the ring, but recent Instagram posts show she’s been wearing it for at least the last few weeks.

Earlier this month, de Minaur made a candid confession about his high-profile relationship with Boulter.

The couple have been together for almost four years, but it was only last year at Wimbledon that they suddenly became the center of attention.

They melted hearts around the world when they teamed up in the mixed doubles tournament at the All England Club.

They lost in the second round but won many fans with their performances and attitude on the pitch.

Having spent most of his career out of the spotlight, de Minaur admitted he was surprised by the sudden interest.

“It was definitely strange,” De Minaur told The Guardian. “It was the first time I was followed by paparazzi. I wasn’t expecting that because they found out where we were staying and were waiting for us the next morning.

“This was an incredible experience for me, something I never thought possible. And it’s all because of Katie.”

Boulter described the attention last week as a “circus”.

“It’s really hard to describe. I mean, I can’t walk down the street with him separately. I feel like I’m sharing it with everyone, which isn’t a bad thing,” she said.

“I think it was definitely fun to be there because it was a bit like a circus, but a good circus.

“I think it’s great that he’s getting the attention he really deserves. He put in the work for it. He is playing the best tennis of his life.

“It really gives me a lot of pride to actually watch him in this moment because I know everything he’s been through, how tough he is and how strong he is in everything he does.

“It was a joy to watch and be a part of it at the same time. I will continue to support him in everything he does, no matter what is good or bad.”
