Walters' devastating admission after late capitulation

Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters has admitted the feeling of losing a premiership "pisses off" his playing group and staff after a horrible final 20 minutes handed the Panthers a comeback grand final win.

Walters, who has won six premierships as a player, will have the enormous task of trying to rejuvenate his side as they prepare to bid farewell to stars Thomas Flegler and Herbie Farnworth.

When asked if it'll be a challenge to pick them up, Walters admitted it would be but managed to find the positives in a hollow situation.

"Once the dust settles (we'll move on), everyone in that room can be extremely proud of (what they've done)," he said post-game.

"Where the club is now to where it was before all these guys got their hands on the club, it's just remarkable, absolutely remarkable."

While trying to stay upbeat, the coach did vent his frustration after Nathan Cleary's try cancelled their hopes of ending a 17-year premiership drought. 

"Next couple of days we can sit back and be really proud of that but we wanted to win a premiership this year and we didn't get it so that pisses us off," he said.
