The monarch and his wife will then reunite about midday for a community barbecue at Parramatta Park in Western Sydney, hosted by the New South Wales Premier Chris Minns.

They will be joined by invited guests, including community leaders, volunteers and sports officials.

Later the King will visit the Melanoma Institute Australia on Sydney's North Shore. He will hear from Australians of the Year, Professor Georgina Long and Professor Richard Scolyer about their cancer research and treatment.

By about 4.20pm, the royal couple will arrive at the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House, where thousands of people are expected to gather for what is essentially a farewell to the visiting royals.

Anyone who misses them, will have another chance shortly later when the King and Queen board a vessel at the Man O'War Steps at Farm Cove Crescent for a review of Royal Australian Navy ships.

There will also be a fly-past of Royal Australian Air Force planes.

Following the completion of their Australia tour, the couple will then travel to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
