NRL live updates: Newcastle Knights vs Warriors, Cronulla ...
Cronulla-Sutherland and St George Illawarra meet in a local derby at a sodden Shark Park.
West Tigers will be without halfback Aiden Sezer for at least four weeks after he was hit with a lengthy ban for his hip drop tackle in Saturday's contest with the Bulldogs.
Earlier, the Knights edged the Warriors 14-8 in tough conditions in Newcastle.

We're underway at Shark Park.
They've had to pump water off the ground there's been so much rain out on the field today in the Shire.
So it might be tough for both teams to get going.
Hoping for no injuries today but got to admit I would love to slide across the try line.

Injuries are a hot topic at the moment, KB.
But yeah, I reckon it's time for the slip and slide.
While we're waiting for the local derby, let's check out this desktop exercise conducted by Brien Seeney.
It's a pretty handy side, let's be honest - although good luck getting all them under the salary cap...
Seeney, the man behind the @NRLPhysio twitter/X account, told Grandstand Rugby League a short while ago that as players get more explosive and athletic, injuries will be more common.

Given the conditions, that was an amazing performance. Buzzing about that. Two wins in a row, without Kalyn. Let’s go!
- Soaking
Important victory for the Knights against a team that a month ago people were tipping to have a very good season.
Especially with Kalyn Ponga sitting up in the stands - any wins the Knights can pick up with him out are hugely important.
Now go get dry for goodness sake.
Key Event
Knights hang on to win at the death! The off-colour Warriors have been condemned to third-straight defeat, falling to a 14-8 defeat against the Knights in dire conditions in Newcastle.
Just three tries were scored in the contest, which is understandable given the sodden conditions, that only got worse as the game went on.
Tyson Gamble and Daniel Saifiti scored a try in each half to get the Knights over the line.
The hosts, backed by a sensational crowd of over 16,000 defended with incredible tenacity to secure back-to-back wins for the first time in the 2024 season.
Dylan Walker's try before half time and two Shaun Johnson goals were the only scores for the Warriors, who struggled to get their attack to fire.
The famous chant rings out amidst the storm here as Newcastle looks to see out this game.
They're going to have to work hard to do so.
And they're getting very riled up as referee Chris Butler gives two penalties in a row to the Warriors to get them back up field.
The first is a ruck infringement that the Knights faithful hopes is a lost ball.
Then next is for a late hit that the Knights try to get overturned, but that only highlights that it could be a shoulder charge by Greg Marzhew.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak asks for a sin bin by referee Butler laughs and says just a penalty.
The Warriors do have the ball in great field position though.
The Warriors piggy back off a penalty to get to within striking distance of the Knights line.
Dane Gagai does really well to diffuse a Shaun Johnson bomb, but as he takes the ball away from his own line he coughs up the ball, putting the Knights back under pressure.
Gagai is tackled in goal at the end of that next set, but the short goalline drop out is regathered by the Warriors on the 10 metre line.
The Warriors continue to press but Jayden Brailey lands a massive shot on Addin Fonua-Blake to effect the turnover on the fifth tackle just three metres out.
Incredible defence.
Nice little pop pass from Jackson Hastings sets Daniel Saifiti through a gap to score!
(Getty Images)Saifiti ran straight through two would-be tacklers in Te Maire Martin and Mitchell Barnett, then managed to hold onto the ball as Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad attempts to strip the big man on his way to the line.
The kick is good and that should be a match-winning margin in these conditions, which desperately favour the front-running side.
There are 16,094 very wet fans inside Hunter stadium in Newcastle.
Fair play.
You can hear the rain hammering off the roof on the grandstand.
It looks dark and miserable.
Hats off (but please, keep your hats on if you're in the ground) to those in the stadium - who are doing the best they can to shelter under the paltry protection afforded by plastic ponchos.
It looked a mighty soft penalty to give away, but the Warriors won't mind.
Shaun Johnson does really well to score it as the heavens open and the rain comes teeming down!
We're level at 8-8.
its not the first time DWZ has been tackled in goal, in the air, whilst trying to score a try. How is this not a penalty try? if he was obstructed or even tackled without the ball in general play attempting to score a try it would be a penalty try
- Amand
Theres nothing stopping defenders tackling players in the air in goal to intentionally save a try. Anywhere else on the field tacking in the air is punished, report or sin binned, yet an intentional professional foul during the attempt to scoring a try is given a wet bus ticket
- Amand
I'm with you Amand.
I don't really know why that can't be a penalty try.
Had the tackle not taken place, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak clearly scores.
Bizarre.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak finishes off a superb 3-on-2 overlap in the corner, dotting down impressively as he so often does.
However, in creating the overlap, Jackson Ford runs straight into the chest of Jackson Hastings.
No try according to the rules, which is a shame given the acrobatic finish from Watene-Zelezniak.
Shaun Johnson has popped up a second-consecutive wobbly bomb, that was allowed to bounce (nobody was catching it to be fair).
Jackson Ford then gave chase as the ball was kicked on again.
But Bradman Best got there first and pushed it dead in goal.
(Getty Images)The rain appears to have eased a little bit - but I am told there is a lot more coming imminently.
We're back underway in Newcastle.
I'm wearing a Star Wars hoody. Beat that...
- Natty
I've been in the Star Wars gear all weekend.
Good to be joining this rainy Sunday Simon. Some family members heading out to Shark Park with goggles and flippers.
- KB
There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing, so I'm told KB.
That being said, I think flippers are probably both inappropriate and yet required today.
(Getty Images)Nice weather for Sharks, perhaps?
