Simon Wood’s side will be keen to get off the mark this campaign when they visit Lancashire, after being narrowly beaten by Huddersfield Town in the season’s opener last time out.

After going into the break a goal down against the Terriers, it was one way traffic in the second half as United pushed for a much-deserved leveller, but the visitors would snatch a second deep into stoppage time against the run of play.

New signings Shauna Legge, Drew Greene, Ellie White and Amy Woodruff all featured for the Whites in a new-look formation in the curtain raiser, with Leeds testing themselves against strong opposition.

Fylde will offer a similarly stern challenge for Wood’s team after the Coasters, like Huddersfield, also were relegated from the Northern Premier Division last term.

The Lancashire outfit started life in Division One North by rescuing a point away at Barnsley, with Millie Tindall’s late goal ensuring the points were shared at Oakwell.

Action from Kellamergh Park gets underway at 2pm.
