After a seven-year hiatus, the iconic rock band Linkin Park has made a triumphant return with the release of their new single, “The Emptiness Machine.” The track, which features the band’s signature sound infused with fresh energy, serves as the lead single from their upcoming album, “FROM ZERO,” set for release on November 15 via Warner Records.
Along with the new single, Linkin Park has welcomed two new members to their lineup: Emily Armstrong, vocalist of the acclaimed band Dead Sara, and Colin Brittain, a renowned songwriter and producer who has worked with artists such as G Flip, Illenium, and One OK Rock. The addition of Armstrong and Brittain has brought a renewed sense of creativity and collaboration to the band.
To celebrate their return, Linkin Park has announced a series of surprises for their dedicated following, including a music video for “The Emptiness Machine,” a 24-hour global livestream performance, and the launch of their “From Zero World Tour,” which will see the band perform at six major arenas across the globe.
The band’s journey to this point has been one of reconnection and rediscovery. In recent years, original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn began meeting up without any expectations, focusing on spending time together and rekindling the camaraderie that has been at the core of their friendship since college. As they invited friends and collaborators to join them in the studio, they found a special connection with Armstrong and Brittain, leading to the creation of “FROM ZERO.”
Reflecting on the new era, Shinoda shared, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life.
