Aussie legend Lydia Williams will retire after Paris 2024

Two-time football Olympian Lydia Williams of Australia will call it a career after the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024.

"I feel at peace with the decision," Williams said, according to the Wide World of Sports. "I'm extremely lucky that I get to go out, the way that I want to, and have the opportunity to share that with the girls and everyone who's fallen in love with the Tillies."

The 35-year-old has played in five FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments, in addition to her Olympic appearances at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. She made her international debut for Australia in 2005 at age 15.

Her 19 years on the Australian national team, nicknamed the Matildas, is the longest ever.
