Who was our Man of the Match against Everton?
Sunday 01 December 2024 16:00
Our Man of the Match vote, following Sunday's dominant 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford, was one where a host of Reds could have won.
We marked Ruben Amorim's first home Premier League match in style, eclipsing the Toffees with two goals in either half.
The finishes were split 50:50 between Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee too, as we showed composure on the ball and ruthlessness in the Everton box.
Following the game, we ran the customary Man of the Match vote among our supporters to see who the Reds fans felt shone brightest at Old Trafford.
Despite not scoring himself, Amad was the player who emerged on top of our poll, with a huge 70 per cent of the vote.
The winger has been utilised at wing-back by Amorim so far, and was superb in many areas throughout the clash with Everton.
It was our no.16 who won the ball, before Bruno Fernandes assisted Zirkzee's first goal of the afternoon, and his talent in the final third was all over our second-half goals.
Both Rashford and Zirkzee's finishes in the second period were assisted by Amad and it was visible that he was suffering from cramp and fatigue in the closing stages, highlighting just how much he put into the game.
Rashford's brace was also recognised by our supporters, as he got 14 per cent of the vote. Zirkzee, equally prolific on the day, got eight per cent, after linking play superbly and showing his quality.
Fernandes provided both assists in the first half, and four per cent of voters backed him for the star-man award.
But is our Ivory Coast international who wins the Man of the Match award - and not for the first time this season.
Congratulations, Amad!
