The 33-year-old Hollywood star was pictured giggling away as she was joined by her British movie producer husband, Tom Ackerely, whilst wearing the opinion-dividing fashion shoes.

Robbie rocked her yellow Crocs with a black crop top and matching black flared pants.

Her choice of shoes adds fuel to the celebrity style debate on the shoes. Whilst Justin Bieber is a huge fan, fashion designer Victoria Beckham said she would ‘rather die’ than be seen in them.

Robbie was spotted on Melbourne Cup day in WA after WA business legend Tony Galati revealed what happened when he had an unlikely one-on-one audience with the Hollywood superstar at Cottesloe Beach the day before.

The instantly recognisable Spudshed boss said he slipped out of his famous blue vest and stubbies to try to meet the 33-year-old Barbie star at the launch of her gin brand Papa Salt at a private soiree at Indigo Oscar.

Sadly for Galati, whose family are huge fans of the Hollywood star, he was banned from taking a selfie to prove their chit-chat happened.

Revealing their catch-up and his extraordinary effort, Galati said: “I had a pair of jeans and a polo shirt.

“I had my shorts and my uniform in the back of my ute, and then I got changed and went back to work.”

Spilling how he and Robbie clicked, the business mogul revealed: “I spoke to her. She is really nice, ay, for an Australian!”

He added: “She talks to everybody, you know, very nice and well-spoken.”

Galati said he was more eager to put in a word for his clan.

He told Pete & Kymba on Mix94.5: “I was just sharing photos of my granddaughter. I showed her pictures of my latest granddaughter, and she was blown away.”

Galati regaled: “My granddaughters would love to be there because they’re a big fan of her, you know.

“My granddaughter would have loved to be there and see her.”

Sadly, he doesn’t have the happy snap to prove that he met the movie superstar.

“You weren’t allowed to take photos in there,” he said.

Explaining why he got the call to meet Robbie, he said: “I was there because of our Liquor Shed. We sell it in the liquor store.

“I was only there for about half an hour just to make an appearance, and it was pretty good.”

And the businessman was happy to endorse Robbie’s celebrity gin.

“It’s not a bad drop, actually,” Galati said. “I don’t normally drink, but yesterday I tried it. It’s pretty good, actually.”

Robbie soft launched Papa Salt in May in Australia, and it sold out in less than 48 hours.

The blue bottle retails for about $85 for 700ml.

She joins a race of multimillionaire celebrity booze hounds making millions out of their own alcohol brands.
