Margot Robbie's Unexpected Fall Shoe? “Marshmallow” Sandals
Given she played the titular character in Barbie this summer, Margot Robbie has spent the year in shoes that are plastic fantastic—both on-screen and off-screen. Call it method dressing, but Robbie has taken style cues from Barbie via her stylish array of heels, which have included everything from Chanel slingbacks to mules by Louboutin and Manolo. That being said, the movie is out in the world now, and it seems Robbie is officially moving in a different fashion direction. While spotted out at Cottesloe Beach in Perth, the star debuted a more unexpected fall shoe—“marshmallow sandals.”
Robbie hit the beach in Givenchy’s white molded rubber “Marshmallow” platform shoes, which retail for $575. Though Barbie also loves a slip-on shoe, the clunkier, sportier silhouette of the Givenchy pair is definitely new territory for the star. They’re almost reminiscent of a pool slide, or a Crocs platform—but more fashun. Robbie styled them just the right way, by letting them take the spotlight: She paired the shoes with a white button-down shirt worn as a dress, and finished off the look with a chained bag and sleek black sunnies. The question is: Would you rock marshmallow shoes? We’re on the fence, but suddenly, a s’more sounds divine.
