A woman has been hospitalised after a fall at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium before an AFL match between Carlton and Brisbane.
It is understood she plunged from the stadium’s second tier into the seating area below just after 6pm.
Many of the seats were still unfilled when the incident occurred, less than two hours before Friday night’s Round 8 AFL match was set to kick off.

The woman was conscious after the fall but sustained injuries to the lower half of her body and was transported to hospital.
“Paramedics were called to a report of a fall just after 6pm last night,” Victoria Ambulance told 7NEWS.com.au.
“A woman was treated for lower body injuries and taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.”

“There’s unfortunately been a supporter injured in the crowd this evening,” he said on Friday night.
“She’s conscious and being attended to by staff at Marvel Stadium at the moment, some talk she may have fallen from the second level down to the set of seats at the other end of the ground, we hope she’s OK.”
