The CommBank Matildas will wrap up their Women's Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 2 qualifiers when they take on Chinese Taipei, looking to remain at the top of the table and advance to Round 3 of qualification.

The game at HBF Park will be the side's final Group A games of Round 2 of Olympic Qualifiers, looking to finish at the top of their group and book a spot in Round 3 of qualifying in February 2024.

CommBank Matildas head coach Tony Gustavsson has seen three players depart camp leading into the final matchday, forward Cortnee Vine has been ruled out of the final Group A match after sustaining a hamstring injury suffered during Match Day Two’s fixture against the Philippines on Sunday.

Emily van Egmond and Ellie Carpenter have also departed the assembly at the conclusion of Match Day Two with the duo returning back to their respective clubs.

As per Asian Qualifier regulations, no additional players will be registered for Round 2.

Our Opponent

Chinese Taipei picked up their first point of Qualification on Match Day Two, being held to a 0-0 draw by IR Iran. Despite taking the lead in their opening game, the side fell 4-1 to the Philippines and will be looking to finish their campaign on a high.

The sides last met during Round 2 Olympic Qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics, with Australia defeating Chinese Taipei 7-0 at Campbelltown Stadium. 

A hat-trick to Caitlin Foord and goals to Catley, Raso, Kerr and Gorry sealed the dominant display.
