Michael Schumacher's brother Ralf provides heartbreaking family ...
Even the brother of Michael Schumacher is not afforded the privilege of being within the Formula One legend’s extremely private inner circle.
Ralf Schumacher has given a rare insight into his severely ill brother’s life, and his involvement — or lack thereof — in it.
Since hitting his head on a rock in a 2013 skiing accident that forced him into a medically-induced coma for 250 days, even some of Michael Schumacher’s family and friends have been kept in the dark over the seven-time world champion’s health.

Such are the wishes of Schumacher’s wife, Corrina, and immediate family, to keep his battle private.
Very little information on the 54-year-old and the status of his health ever becomes known — even to his brother.
Speaking to German magazine Bunte, Ralf said he has very little contact with his iconic brother’s immediate family, but will always be there for them when they need him.
“When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles,” he said.
“If someone in the family is looking for my advice, I’m there. They go their own way.”

Subsequent updates have been few and far between.
“Unfortunately, sometimes life isn’t fair,” Ralf said when asked about contact with his brother’s family.
“We have to accept it.”
Ralf remains employed within the Formula One industry, working for Sky’s German broadcast team.

“A case without hope,” Benoit said of Schumacher’s condition to Swiss media.
But he wouldn’t be drawn on specifics, only going as far to say that Schumacher’s son, Mick, is hurting.
“No. There is only one answer to this question and that is what his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022 — ‘I would give anything to talk to dad’,” Benoit said.
“This sentence says everything about how his father has been doing for over 3500 days.”

“I think dad and me, we would understand each other in a different way now, simply because we speak a similar language — the language of motorsport,” he explained.
“We would have had much more to talk about and that is where my head is most of the time, thinking that would be so cool.
“That would be it. I would give up everything just for that. Yes.”
