Police allege a 16-year-old boy stole a vehicle at gunpoint before crashing it, killing a 69-year-old woman north of Brisbane.
Chief Superintendent Adam Guild said police responded to reports a woman had her car stolen at Griffin about 9:30am.
He said the allegedly stolen blue Audi sedan was travelling on Dohles Rocks Road at Murrumba Downs about 9:45am when it collided with a Toyota Corolla, which was turning right into McClintock Street.

The 69-year-old, who was the sole occupant of the car, was trapped and died at the scene.
"QPS and myself offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased in what can be described as a very tragic circumstance," Chief Superintendent Guild said.
The allegedly stolen car then hit a stationary unmarked police car at the intersection, injuring two officers.

Police have found the weapon that was allegedly used in the robbery at Griffin about 15 minutes before the crash.
They believe the driver of the allegedly stolen blue Audi could have links to occupants of a stolen orange Holden hatchback that was seen in the area at the time.
Police have released CCTV and are appealing for anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of the vehicle with the registration to contact triple-0 immediately.
"Members of the public are urged not to approach the vehicle, or anyone associated with the vehicle," police said in a statement.
Earlier, Chief Superintendent Guild said no police vehicle was following the allegedly stolen car before the incident, but police had stationary vehicles patrolling Murrumba Downs and Griffin searching for the vehicle.
"We are working with the Ethical Standards Command and the Coroner to thoroughly and wholesomely fully investigate this incident to look at all the circumstances leading up to this," Chief Superintendent Guild said.

He said the 16-year-old was taken into custody and is under police guard in hospital after sustaining leg injuries. He will be questioned at a later time.
"We are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. If you have CCTV or you did witness something prior to this impact please contact us," Chief Superintendent Guild said.
He said police would allege upon searching the stolen vehicle, officers found what they describe as a firearm.
"That firearm will be subject to further testing," he said.
When asked about reports the allegedly stolen car was driving at speed and ran a red light before the collision, Chief Superintendent Guild said police were appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

Mr Crisafulli said he would have more to say "about the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking situation in the days ahead".
