NAIDOC Week 2023

NAIDOC Week starts today and is an Indigenous-led celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To celebrate NAIDOC week in Maribyrnong, we will be holding a series of events including:

Treaty Community Forum

Braybrook Library is hosting a Treaty Community Forum on Thursday 6 July. Lunch will be available at Braybrook Community Hub from 12pm, with the forum starting at 1pm. The Treaty Community Forum will be held with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria and is a chance to learn more about the Self-Determination Fund and the processes for Treaty-making in Victoria, have a yarn, and help shape the next steps on the journey. This event is for Community and allies.

NAIDOC Week Story Time

Yarraville Library is hosting a NAIDOC Week Story Time on Saturday 8 July from 11am. A special weekend Story Time to celebrate stories about Elders from First Nations children's authors. Suitable for ages 0-5.
