The group play stage of the 2024 NBA Cup men's basketball tournament is now over and the knockout stage picture is officially complete.

Eight teams will contest the quarter-finals, with six advancing as group winners and two coming through with the conference wild cards.

In the east, a resurgent Milwaukee Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard beat the Detroit Pistons to clinch East Group B undefeated and advance as the number one seed.

Their 4-0 record is matched only by the East Group A winners, the New York Knicks recorded a comfortable 121-106 win over the Orlando Magic to secure home advantage for the quarter-finals.

Despite the defeat, the Magic earned the East wild card due to their points differential over reigning NBA champions, the Boston Celtics.

They will take on the Bucks away in the first of the East’s knockout matches with the Knicks facing off against the Atlanta Hawks, who won East Group C.

Over in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Utah Jazz 133-106 to clinch the number one spot in West Group B. They will now line up against the West wild card team the Dallas Mavericks, who secured the ticket after an inspired 37 points and 12 rebounds from Slovenia’s Luka Doncic helped the Mavs overcome a 15-point final quarter deficit and win 121-116 against the Memphis Grizzlies 121-116.

Despite copping losses in their find group games, the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors will battle it out in the last quarter-final.

The Warriors fell 115-119 to the Denver Nuggets after an historic performance by Nikola Jokic who registered 38 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals for his third career game of at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals. The Rockets, meanwhile, lost 120-111 to the Sacramento Kings.

All games from now on in the NBA Cup are single-elimination with the three remaining rounds set to play out over the course of one week.

Games played in the quarter-finals and semi-finals still count as regular season games, however the the final will not.
