Neil Gaiman no longer working on final season of Amazon's 'Good ...

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that Neil Gaiman will no longer be working on the production of the third and final season of "Good Omens", and plans for the show have been changed from a full six-episode season to one 90-minute feature-length episode.

The news follows earlier reports that the production of the series’ final season, based on the book by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, had been paused. Prime Video told The Bookseller that Gaiman has helped in writing the finale but will not be working on the production. 

A number of sexual assault allegations have been made against Gaiman. He first denied allegations of "non-consensual sex" and "sexual assault" reported in an investigation by Tortoise, in early July.

A spokesperson confirmed that the third "Good Omens" season will comprise of one 90-minute episode starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley. Production is expected to start early in 2025 in Scotland, while the season will premiere on Prime Video and will be available to watch in more than 240 countries and territories across the world. 

The executive producers of the final season are Rob Wilkins of Narrativia, representing Terry Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Productions’ head of comedy Josh Cole. The episode will be based on a conversation between Pratchett and Gaiman, which took place nearly 35 years ago, about "what happens next" to the characters from the novel. 

Gaiman’s publisher Headline has declined to comment. The Bookseller has also contacted Gaiman’s representatives, as well his publishers Bloomsbury and Penguin Random House (PRH).
