The popularity of the Dallas Cowboys extends beyond the United States, as a study by Flashpicks concluded that the team is the most-searched for internationally of any NFL franchise.

The study looked at Google search volume across the world, going back four years for data. Dallas’ 440,410 international Google searches a month top the Kansas City Chiefs (433,490) and Buffalo Bills (427,830). No other team had more than 293,540 monthly international searches (Miami Dolphins).

Dallas is the most-searched NFL team in 30 different countries, most notably China, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. The Bills topped the Cowboys with 31 countries, which include Canada, Spain, France and Italy.

The Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers round out the top-10 most internationally searched teams. The Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Washington Commanders are the three least-searched teams.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Cowboys also remain the most-searched NFL team within the United States. Dallas was valued at $9.2 billion, the most for any sports franchise in the world. The Cowboys also had three of the 10 most-viewed telecasts of 2023. The only other team with three was the Kansas City Chiefs, who played in the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. The most-watched regular season game was the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game against the Washington Commanders.

The Cowboys and Jerry Jones remain the NFL’s biggest and most popular brand, despite a lack of recent deep-playoff success. The team hasn’t made it to the NFC Championship since 1995. And now the team has complicated contract situations with its three biggest stars; Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb.
