With the seventh Mission: Impossible movie featuring a nearly $300 million budget and getting pushed back multiple times due to COVID, it is no wonder why Tom Cruise wants an optimal release window for his film. The fact that Oppenheimer is releasing so soon after Mission: Impossible 7 might have an impact on box office numbers, especially with its IMAX screens.
Last year’s Tom Cruise film, Top Gun: Maverick, grossed $110 million out of its $1.49 billion box office run on IMAX screens.
