Only Pedro Pascal could make a black shirt red-hot

Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal is a bit of a fashion enigma. Because when he's out there in the wild doing all his little Pedro Pascal things, he wears hip-hop merch and classic coats. You know, nice and normal stuff that nice and normal guys wear. But when he's on a press tour, things get a lot sexier. Just look at the shirt that he wore in London last night, because this is scorching menswear.

Starting from the very top, The Last of Us star wore a black shirt by Bottega Veneta. Ever since creative director Matthieu Blazy took over in late 2021, the brand has been an all-out grail factory. From the baggy knits that've got Jacob Elordi sprung to Nicholas Hoult's corpcore suits, it's retained a high level of hype. And it's thanks to the little, tiny details that are added to every single piece. Pascal's shirt doesn't come with any top buttons, so there's a deep V and a lot of suggestion.

The Chilean actor then pulled up a pair of matching high-waisted trousers and Bottega Veneta's very popular Astaire loafers, which is one of A$AP Rocky's go-tos. This particular pair was covered in a glittery finish for a Big Night Out kinda vibe.

Pascal's long taken menswear staples, and somehow made them steamier. Sure, you probably own a rack full of black shirts right now, but they've never looked as hot (or as well pressed) as this. He did the same thing with see-through, crochet cardigans at a press event last summer. He did the same thing with short shorts at the Met Gala. And yes, he did the same thing with glasses, too. “They're old school without skewing fancy dress,” wrote GQ's Murray Clark on the matter. “They're nerdy without the hangover of ‘geek chic’ bowties. They are, truly, just super classic – and will stand up in the future just as strongly as they did 40 years back.”

So the next time you see something in your wardrobe that's just not cutting it, ask yourself, “WWPPD?” (what would Pedro Pascal do?). The spicy inspo will soon follow.
