The Hurricanes have had a disastrous start, losing two wickets in successive balls in the second over against the Scorchers with a key duo sent packing.

Hobart were sitting 2/8 after 1.4 overs, with Jason Behrendorff the man to do the damage taking the prized scalp of Ben McDermott to begin his assault.

The Scorchers seamer caught the edge of McDermott’s bat which sailed to third man at hip height, with Jhye Richardson taking the catch.

Then Sam Hain was dismissed a ball later, with Behrendorff’s swinging delivery crashing into his pad.

Fox Cricket’s Mike Hussey questioned the tactics of the Hurricanes who came out of the games flying against a quality bowling attack.

“I don’t like these tactics from the Hurricanes,” Hussey said.

“Coming really hard early against a quality attack ... just with the way their team’s setup, there’s a lot of pressure on the top two and Sam Hain coming in at three.”
