Tsitsipas is struggling badly with his first serve, he’s under 49 per cent for the match.

But he found a way to finally hold serve and force a tiebreak at 6-6.

Popyrin calls for medical treatment

Popyrin has called for the physio and is being attended to.

He leads 3-2, on serve, in the third set.

Now he has a three-minute medical timeout.

It appears he has left calf injury and he has changed his shirt which would suggest he intends to play on.

Thompson wins eight straight points

Tsitsipas now has to serve to stay in the fourth set after Thompson romped through his last service game to make it 6-5.

He won eight straight points, something very few players do against a player as talented as Tsitsipas.

So much fight from the Aussie.

Djokovic getting stroppy with crowd

It looks as though Novak Djokovic just complained to the umpire about the excitable crowd during that last game, which Alexei Popyrin won on serve.

The 10-time champion approached the umpire briefly during the game, who then cautioned the Rod Laver crowd to “please, just calm down a little bit during the points”.

Not sure that’s going to work given the intensity on both sides here in the arena. It’s one set each.

Thompson breaks back

Thompson has gone from fighting off two match points to breaking Tsitsipas’ serve.

“He was brave enough to take it on,” Lleyton Hewitt said during commentary.

“Now he has to keep the momentum in his service game.”

Thompson let out his frustration just before match point when a cross court shot set up a Tsitsipas winner.

“That’s so dumb,” he yelled at himself.

But the Aussie did fight off the first two match points from the Greek including a brave return that just clipped the line.

The 24 year old Australian, having broken the Serb earlier in the set, was unable to serve it out at 5-3.

But Djokovic then played a poor service game and Popyrin was able to seal the set with a perfectly placed lob over the head of the world No. 1.

That shot electrified the capacity crowd and we are even stevens on Rod Laver Arena.

Huge moment for the young Aussie and another concern for Djokovic who dropped a set in his opening round match as well.

He won the set with a classy lob that lifted over Djokovic and landed in.

The question will be whether Popyrin can keep with the 10-time champion.
