Starry Nights closes amid Christmas night power outage

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A power outage knocked out the lights to a large swath of Shelby County on Christmas evening.

At its peak, more than 14,000 customers were without power, largely impacting the Germantown and Collierville areas.

Power has since been restored to most of the area, with a few hundred customers still without.

A lengthier outage earlier in the night impacted Starry Nights.

Starry Nights at Shelby Farms closed for the night once power was not restored by 8:30 p.m.

MLGW has not provided a cause for either outage.
