$100 million Powerball jackpot up for grabs tonight
Australians have less than 12 hours to grab a ticket for tonight's $100 million Powerball draw.
It's the biggest lotto jackpot in more than three months, and the sixth-largest in Australian history.
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said they anticipated a late rush on ticket sales.
"The last time Powerball offered a $100 million prize was in August when the peak of sales was at 6.17pm on the day of the draw, when 8681 tickets were sold in a single minute," she said.
"On that occasion, the entire $100 million prize was won by an Aspley (Brisbane) woman who discovered her winning ticket in her car glovebox."
Nextra Chermside manager Cara Hickey described selling the last $100 million Powerball ticket as an incredible experience and said her team was eager to see what unfolded tonight.
How Australia's lotto winners spent their cash
"The buzz that it has created with our customers has been nothing short of incredible," Hickey said.
"Selling one of Queensland's biggest winning entries is something we're very proud of."
The draw closes at 7.30pm AEST today.
