SPAIN. Leading travel retailer and food & beverage Avolta today partnered with top Spanish football club Real Madrid to officially inaugurate a hybrid dining and retail concept called The Corner by Real Madrid at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal 4.

Due to the Real Madrid team travelling to Mallorca for their La Liga match, the ceremony was attended by the entire squad, as well as guests from Avolta and the Club.

Avolta said the outlet offers guests “a Real Madrid experience harmonious with the airport surroundings”, underlining the company’s strategy of combining retail together with food & beverage to craft a meaningful sense of place for travellers.

The store is the first of two locations offering a fusion of retail – club merchandise is on sale – and F&B mix at the Madrid gateway. The second is located in T1.

The ceremony was presided over by Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez, Club and Avolta Executive Chairman Juan Carlos Torres. The key message during the inauguration was the union of two great brands, each with a history of excellence and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Torres said: “We believe airports are spaces where unforgettable experiences happen, and this partnership is another perfect example of how Avolta goes the extra mile to achieve this.

“With this new initiative, we aim to redefine what it means to wait for a flight, providing our customers with a place where they can purchase their favourite team’s products, enjoy good food, a comfortable atmosphere, and, of course, the essence of Real Madrid.”

Alongside the Real Madrid team members visiting the new outlet, the inauguration featured a dazzling performance by football freestyler Paloma Pujol, who entertained guests and players with her skills

The Corner by Real Madrid is the result of a strategic agreement between both entities. Real Madrid fans (and others) will recognise the shape of The Corner by Real Madrid bar is inspired by the silhouette of the recently renovated Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

This serves as the centrepiece of the 100sq m space, exuding an elegant and modern style. Travellers can enjoy a range of premium tapas, as well as a wide selection of take-away products.

Quality and proximity define the menu, covering all consumption moments of the day, Avolta said.

The bar serves high-end local products representative of traditional Spanish cuisine, developed in collaboration with Avolta chefs at the company’s Center of Culinary Excellence.

The take-away menu includes locally and internationally inspired sandwiches, as well as a variety of salads to complete the Mediterranean offering, including vegetarian and vegan options.

In the area adjacent to The Corner by Real Madrid, a selection of the most sought-after official club products can be purchased.

The hybrid concept of The Corner by Real Madrid is complemented by a broader range of sports products, equipment, club gifts available in 11 of the main duty-free shops across the country. ✈
