The new Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra: everything you ...
The first new phone flagship of the year is landing at Telstra soon. With pre-orders opening this morning (with sweet deals thrown in), let’s take a look at what the new models can do before they hit the market.
Meet the S24 Series  There are three new devices on offer in the new S24 series. It includes:
The 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S24; The 6.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S24+, and The 6.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (built from titanium!)They’re all built with a seamless design with strength and style in equal measure.
Samsung is this year focussing on improving your everyday experiences: battery life, camera, convenience and AI at the centre of everything. Let’s take a look at AI experience first.
Galaxy AI: do moreAI is everywhere these days. But so often, it’s just another buzzword. That’s not the case with the new S24 range, however.
The AI smarts are baked into each of the new devices thanks to Galaxy AI, which allows you to do a whole range of stuff faster and easier than ever.
Photo Assist: next-level editsThe new range brings with it a range of excellent cameras, ranging from the epic 50MP Pro-Grade camera on the S24, right up to the 200MP Epic camera on the S24 Ultra.
That hardware is backed up by AI this time around, with a new bit of tech called Photo Assist.
Photo Assist’s goal is to make sure every single one of your snaps is worthy of a feed post. Galaxy AI can analyse the images you’ve snapped and make next-level suggested edits for the perfect shots of you and your friends.
This includes object removal, shadow erasing and epic remastering of all your pics.
Live Translate: found in translationNeed to book a bus in Bogota? What about a spa in Spain? Live Translate powered by Galaxy AI helps you speak foreign languages on the spot.
Previous translation tools have relied on you being face-to-face with another person to work. Not anymore with Galaxy AI and Live Translate.
You can use the feature to listen to foreign languages being spoken on the other end of the line in your preferred language.
Circle to Search: find everything
So you’ve taken notes in a meeting or written a long to-do list and now you can’t remember where the most important points are. Happens all the time.
Galaxy AI runs Note Assist: a feature that helps you make a long story short, taking you from information dump to epic, actionable summaries.
You can summarise just about anything with Note Assist, which will make meetings, studying and productivity tasks so much simpler in a snap.
Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+With screens measuring 6.2- and 6.7-inches respectively, the S24 and S24+ are sleek, strong and set for anything.
The new devices come with improved performance, cameras and of course, all the features that Galaxy AI has to offer.
The S24 is the perfect all-rounder, with a great 50MP Pro camera so you don’t sacrifice a single pixel of quality; a bright and versatile screen and a strong yet stylish design. The S24+ steps up the experience with a larger screen that lets your content sing.
The S24+ packs power to take you from day-to-night with a 4900Mah battery. The S24, meanwhile, won’t leave you hanging, with a 4000mAh battery designed to last you all the way through your workday, workout and in-between.
Both devices are packing Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chip for optimised performance that goes for longer thanks to the built-in cooling system. Heat is what slows down chips, so the addition of better venting means you can go harder for longer on your devices.
If you need even more power, however, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is perfect.
Samsung S24 Galaxy UltraThis is it. The flagship. Samsung’s opening serve for 2024. Based on the specs and design, it’s an ace.
Made from a light and strong titanium frame, the sleek, premium and light Galaxy S24 Ultra is all about quality.
Under the hood there’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, designed to work hard and play even harder all day long. The built-in S-Pen is back for advanced productivity and nifty new features have also been added like the ability to use it as a camera remote – great for those astrophotography shots.
Staring back at you is the immersive 6.8-inch QHD+ display, which Samsung says is its brightest and clearest yet. Bezels have been pushed back to make room for more display for added immersion, and the massive real estate means you can multi-task with ease. Nothing like having your emails and your sport streaming on the same screen at once.
The camera has also been beefed up to an incredible 200-megapixels and a crisp 5x Optical Zoom. Optical zoom trounces digital zoom, as it allows you to get closer to a subject without cropping our important details.
It excels no matter the time of day or night and Photo Assist will help make sure every shot is worthy of the ‘gram.
And it’s all powered by the Ultra 5000mAh battery to keep you going with it all day. Game and stream with the power that keeps you connected for longer.
