T20 World Cup Australia vs Scotland live updates — blog, scores ...
Key Event
Scotland (5-180) sets Australia 181 runs to winBoth sides come out of that a little bit happy and a little bit annoyed, which probably means we've got a good game on their hands.
A total of 180 is certainly very competitive from Scotland's point of view, but when McMullen and Munsey were going bananas through the first 10 overs of the innings a target of above 200 looked on the cards. They might be a little flat to have fallen short of that.
Australia was sloppy in the field and inconsistent with its bowling, but still managed to prevent the total from getting away from it. On a good wicket and with a steady breeze helping hitting (to one end of the ground anyway), the Aussies will fancy their chances.
Intriguing game! Thoughts are with our English pals who might be sweating a bit currently.
Scotland has a competitive total here, but a good last over could make it a really good one.
Ellis kicks off with a wide, miles outside off stump.
Next ball would have been a wide too had Berrington not got the very toe end of his bat on it. He takes a single.
Greaves clips down to long on, but can't take two on David's arm. Just the one run there.
Berrington bunts towards David at long on, and this time the lack of speed on the ball gives them time to hurry back for two. Excellent running.
Short, pulled away for a single. Two balls to come.
Good slower ball, no run scored as the bat is beaten. One to come.
And then a wide, poor from Ellis. They run a bye on Wade's arm too, which could have been a run out if not for Ellis's fumble at the non-striker's end.
One more run to end the over. Nine from it.
Interesting that Ellis has been held for the final over. Starc to bowl the penultimate one here.
A wide doesn't help. Greaves ran across his crease looking to scoop Starc, but the ball did still slip down the leg side. A bit unlucky for Australia, but rules are rules.
The field is well spread and they are restricting the batters to singles so far in this over. That's fine and dandy for the Aussies.
More fantastic running from this Scottish pair. Greaves put in a huge dive to make sure he snuck home for his second run before Wade could whip the bails off.
Starc's final over costs Australia six runs. Not bad going.
He, Ellis and Starc all have one each left to bowl so this will be the last over of spin for the innings.
Greaves takes the first ball to long on for a single, before Berrington slogs to square leg for one of his own.
BIG SIX! Berrington goes with the wind and takes it all the way over cow corner. Zampa tried to whip that through quickly but Berrington read the flight and pace really well.
Great running from Greaves takes two where there only looked to be one. Scotland takes 12 runs from Zampa's final over.
Chris Greaves is in the middle now, and he closes out the 17th over with a single to the off side.
Three overs to come now.
The Aussies are fighting back, picking up wickets to slow Scotland's momentum.
Leask didn't middle that one, and hitting into the breeze there was no margin for error. Starc takes an easy catch and Australia has its fifth wicket.
Ellis has two left to bowl, the first of which being used up here.
First ball goes for a single, the second is an excellent slower ball which beats the bat.
Leask smacks one down the ground and sends Starc scrambling on the boundary. He does well though, and keeps it to two runs.
Another good slower ball. Another dot.
Five overs to bowl. Scotland ready to throw some willow at it.
SIX! That'll help! Berrington drops to a knee and slogs Agar over cow corner for another six.
Agar is sending down the darts now, not giving the batters any flight to work with. Three successive singles is the result.
Make that five successive singles after the six to open the over. Over bowled, four to come.
Michael Leask is at the crease and takes his first ball to mid off for a single. Berrington follows up with a single of his own through midwicket.
A good finish to Maxwell's spell, a wicket and three runs from the over. He finishes with figures of 2-44 from his four overs.
It's an absolute pie from Glenn Maxwell, a full toss so high the umpires are actually taking some time to make sure it wasn't above Cross's waist.
He got a fair bit of it but this time the wind worked against Scotland, holding the ball up and allowing Agar to take the catch on the rope.
DROPPED? Did that carry to Marsh at cover again? Yes it did. Make that five dropped catches for Australia in 14.1 overs.
APPEAL! For LBW, I guess. They're reviewing it just for kicks, but I'm not entirely sure what Maxwell has seen here.
So the ball didn't hit the pad at all. It actually hit Berrington's glove and went through to Wade, who fumbled it to the ground for Dropped Catch #6. It's a shambles out there.
That's actually a hat-trick of dropped catches going back to the last ball of Starc's over. Awful stuff.
Starc has a giggle as the first ball of his over misses the off stump somehow from around the wicket. This will be a challenge for Cross and Berrington, who don't yet fully have their eyes in.
FOUR RUNS! Could probably count it as a thick outside edge from Cross, but it matters little. It squirts away through third man for a boundary.
Cross takes three through cover, before Berrington's clever ramp down to third man picks him up a single. The Scots are still playing their shots.
DROPPED AND SIX! Cross hooks one down to Zampa on the fine leg boundary, who spills the catch and parries it over the rope for six more runs.
Australia has been poor in the field and have been made to pay.
Two new batters at the crease, Australia has a chance right now to get back on top and keep this score in check.
Berrington gets a feather on one past Wade behind the stumps and gets back for a well-run three.
The boundaries are drying up, which is a good start for the Aussies. They aren't upset at allowing a few ones and twos out to the deep at this stage of the innings.
Nine runs are taken from that over.
Matthew Cross is the new man in and gets off the mark immediately with a single.
Adam Zampa is single-handedly dragging Australia back into this one. He finishes with 1-1 from that over.

OUT! McMullen's brilliant innings has ended on 60!Relief for Australia and disappointment for Scotland, who would have been wanting to ride out that Brandon McMullen innings for as long as they could.
He went for another lofty blow over long off but was beaten by the spin, getting a thick outside edge to Starc at fly slip. The TV umpire double checked Starc got his fingers under it cleanly, which he clearly did.
Zampa only has one more over after this one.
DROPPED! Berrington backs away and busts one through Marsh's fingers at cover. That's a third dropped catch of the innings - none easy, but all catchable.
The 100 has come up for Scotland in the 11th over, courtesy of a Maxwell wide.
SIX FOR MCMULLEN! This guy is absolutely belting the leather out of that cricket ball, but without ever looking like he's swinging at full capacity. It's pure timing and just enough power. Stunning batting.
FOUR MORE! Berrington joins in the fun with a crunching cut shot through extra cover for four.
Maxwell is being taken apart here. He has 1-41 from three overs.
The skipper Richie Berrington is the new man out in the middle and will be looking to support the McMullen show for as long as he can.
Zampa is zipping them in now, next to no flight on these whatsoever.
Much better over from Zampa, just four from it. Australia exhales at the halfway mark of the innings.
