Shane Warne’s three children are promoting free heart checks at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in honour of their father, who died of heart disease at just 52.
The legendary spin king, who died in Thailand in March 2022, will be honoured at this year’s Boxing Day Test — by the provision of simple, free four-minute tests available for anyone near the cricket ground.

Appearing on Sunrise on Tuesday, Shane’s children Brooke, Jackson and Summer said they wanted to provide the opportunity for everyone to get their heart checked.
“There are 23 machines set up all throughout the MCG,” Jackson said.
“The test is a non-invasive, four-minute heart check and it takes your BMI and your blood levels.”

The ambitious plan is expected to deliver 23,000 heart tests to MCG visitors.
Warne’s death, which sent shockwaves through the international sporting community, was ruled by Thai authorities as a suspected heart attack.
As Australia faces down Pakistan at the MCG on December 26, spectators will tip their hats at 3.50pm, in memory of the elite cricketer, whose Test cap number was 350.
Jackson Warne said he was looking forward to the moment, admitting he wished he was in the crowd 15 years ago to listen to cricket lovers shouting “Warnie” from the stands.
White floppy hats in the style that Warne wore throughout his career — and which the cricketer was seen tipping in a famous photo from his final Test match — will be sold at the MCG.

“We spent the (Christmas) day at Jackson’s house altogether and we had some of dad’s friends there, as well and their kids, and it was a really special day,” Brooke said.
“A hard day, but really special day.
“It was really special that everyone came together and we were able to laugh and have a drink and have a really great day.”
