US Soccer and the German Football Association (DFB) have become the first two national governing bodies to launch dedicated experiences in Fifa’s digital environment on the Roblox platform.

Fifa launched its Roblox experience ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, allowing fans to visit with their digital avatar and access a range of games, digital apparel and match highlights. ‘Fifa World’ was the most visited sports experience in Roblox history, with more than 21 million visits, and recently received a major upgrade.

‘Fifa World 2.0’ promises enhanced integration capabilities for member associations and commercial partners, new gaming experiences, and a greater focus on original content.

“Fifa World 2.0 represents our commitment to growing football by developing innovative ways for fans to engage with the sport,” said Romy Gai, Fifa chief business officer. “The immersive experience on Roblox will provide football fans with exciting new ways to interact, celebrate, and show their creativity and national pride.”

“US Soccer Tycoon is a reflection of the Federation’s strategy to delve deeper into emerging technologies to reach new fans and experiment for the future, especially as we think about 2026,” added US Soccer senior vice president of business ventures Ross Moses.

“The collaboration with Roblox and Fifa provides an opportunity to introduce young fans to soccer and our National Teams in an engaging and sustainable model that harnesses the global soccer ecosystem.”

Fifa will look to bring more member associations into Fifa World 2.0, part of a wider direct-to-consumer (DTC) push that has seen it launch the Fifa+ over-the-top (OTT) platform and several online games. US Soccer will add more functionality ahead of the men’s 2026 Fifa World Cup, which it is co-hosting with Canada and Mexico.
