WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - There was action on the football field and the soccer pitch on Thursday.

Lowville hosted Canastota on the gridiron.

- The Red Raiders get on the board first. Devin Swiernik takes it in from a yard out and Lowville goes on top 7-0.

- Later in the first quarter, Carson Kempney finds Dominic Swiernik in the endzone for the touchdown. It’s 14-0 Red Raiders.

Lowville went on to beat Canastota 39-7.

Norwood Norfolk hosted Hammond in boys’ Northern Athletic Conference soccer.

- In the 10th minute, Hammond’s Michael Ortiz intercepts the outlet pass, then drills a low liner to the corner of the net. It’s 1-0 Red Devils.

- The Flyers look for the equalizer. Wyatt Hazleton turns and fires on net, but goalie Hudson Arquiett grabs the shot.

- In the second minute of overtime, Ortiz gets a partial break and floats a crossing shot that connects for the sudden-victory game-winner.

Hammond edged Norwood-Norfolk 2-1.
