While Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag held his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Tottenham were in action later that evening.

The north Londoners, like the Reds, had an opening Europa League assignment, and will have hoped to have come through unscathed, in advance of Sunday's 16:30 BST kick-off at Old Trafford.

Centre-back Radu Dragasin received an early red card in the 3-0 home victory over Qarabag but the European ban will not affect his availability for the weekend.

Cristian Romero had a night off, due to suspension, while Pedro Porro and James Maddison were among the unused substitutes.

However, there was a worry for manager Ange Postecoglou when skipper Son Heung-min was withdrawn after going down in discomfort around the 70-minute mark.

"I haven't spoken to him," Postecoglou told reporters afterwards. "He said he felt a bit tired but I haven't spoken to him or the medical team yet."

A further update was provided by the White Hart Lane boss on Friday afternoon, when he admitted the South Korea international has a question mark over his involvement.

"Obviously, it is still early days," he added. "It is fair to say that the boys are fairly tired, the ones who put in the shift. Apart from Sonny, everyone's okay. And Sonny, I don't think is too bad. He wants to train tomorrow and, obviously, we'll see how he goes and make a decision from there."

Archie Gray, the summer signing from Leeds United, played at full-back and also seemed to pick up a knock.

"He didn’t stop running though, so it can’t be that bad,” said Postecoglou, who also stressed the decision to replace in-form Brennan Johnson with Dejan Kulusevski was purely tactical and the son of former United Academy man David is "fine".

Dominic Solanke, who scored against the Reds at Old Trafford for Bournemouth last term, also continued his good run with the third goal against Qarabag.

Spurs have been without Richarlison and Wilson Odobert and both forwards appear to be doubts again for the trip to Manchester.

Richarlison has, though, been spotted training individually on Friday morning.

United boss Ten Hag revealed that we had no fresh injury knocks from the 1-1 draw with FC Twente, with the same, or a similar, squad expected to be on duty this weekend.
