Celebrated Supercars photographer Mark Horsburgh has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Supercars Media Award, recognising his outstanding contributions to the sport's visual history.
As Supercars’ official photographer, Horsburgh has chronicled every event of the V8 Supercars era, capturing the most iconic moments in the sport’s history.
Known for his unique ability to immortalise the drama and energy of Supercars racing, Horsburgh’s work has shaped the way fans experience the sport’s most memorable events.
He first won the award in 2010, and is the first photographer to receive the accolade since Ray Berghouse in 2011.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard praised Horsburgh’s dedication, stating: “Mark has been an indispensable figure in Supercars, giving fans a lens into the heart of our sport with every snap he takes.
“His tireless dedication and passion have elevated Supercars’ legacy, and we are proud to celebrate his extraordinary contributions with this award.”
Horsburgh was presented with the award during the season finale, the VAILO Adelaide 500, acknowledging his enduring commitment to capturing the essence of Supercars through his artistry.
After sneaking into events in the Peter Brock and Dick Johnson days as a youngster, Horsburgh initially worked with the likes of Mick Doohan and Daryl Beattie.
In 1997, Horsburgh was appointed the sport’s official photographer, and hasn’t missed an event since – one of two people in that exclusive club, the other being Dunlop Motorsport operations manager Kevin Fitzsimons.
