Match Report: Sydney FC have lost 2-1 to the Newcastle Jets after the visitors scored two goals in the final five minutes.
The Sky Blues had the advantage when goalkeeper Danielle Krzyzaniak was sent off in the opening 15 minutes and Sydney FC took advantage immediately through Indiana Dos Santos to lead.
Chances were at a premium after that and the closest the Sky Blues came was when Jordan Thompson hit the post from Hawkesby’s free kick.
Sydney FC were given a warning when Prior hit the bar with a header in the 85th minute, and 60 seconds later the Jets were level with Jackson stealing in unmarked from a left wing cross.
A draw was on the cards until the last seconds when a free kick in the centre of the park was floated forward to Allan to nudge home in the centre of the goal and win the game.
Jordan Thompson on the attackWhat They Said: Ante Juric:- “Disappointing I thought that was our worst performance of the year in terms of energy, effort, front third, we had a couple of chances, but it wasn’t good at all.
“We didn’t deserve anything from that, everyone needs to step up.
“There was not one performer, I think that was up to the level today.”
