Sydney Trains services to experience significant delays | Transport ...
Sydney Trains advises passengers that on Monday, 9 December, there will be major service reductions and cancellations on the heavy rail network due to the impact of recent industrial action.
This action will significantly disrupt passengers on Monday, particularly those travelling on Intercity services.
Many inner Sydney suburban passengers will see a reduction in service, with delays and cancellations throughout the day on the T1 North Shore and Western, T2 Leppington & Inner West, T3 Liverpool and Inner West and T8 Airport & South lines. Services on the T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line will be replaced by buses between Bankstown and Lidcombe.
Passengers using the Blue Mountains and South Coast lines will have one train per hour travelling in each direction, while those using the Central Coast & Newcastle line are scheduled to have two trains per hour travelling in each direction.
Passengers on Intercity services should plan ahead and look for alternative modes of transport where possible, in particular, for students travelling to school.
Sydney Trains apologises to our passengers for the disruption, and thanks commuters for their understanding as staff work to minimise the impacts of the difficult industrial period.
Passengers should plan ahead and check the latest updates before making their journey and allow extra travel time.
