FOUR! Lovely stroke from Dhruv Jurel, punching behind point off the back foot.

Mitch Marsh is into the attack straight after a feed.

A little wide and full to start and even Rishabh is willing to leave that alone.

Rishabh is well outside his crease and happily defending off his hip.

He drops to the off side and wants to scurry through for a quick single, but Dhruv isn't having a bar of it.

Simon Taufel, former Test umpire, has been speaking on Channel 7.

He says the decision was fair enough, but the third umpire did not get enough angles.

"The umpire is looking for conclusive evidence and there were a few gremlins … where he didn't get a few camera angles that he wanted," Taufel said on Seven.

"In my view the ball does graze the outside edge.

"With that side on shot there was a spike with the bat away from the pad."

Let's nip into the Fox studio for the reaction from former India star Ravi Shastri to that wicket of KL Rahul.

"My initial reaction was, was there enough evidence there for the third umpire to overrule what was given," he says.

"It was not out on the field of play.

"Did I see enough there for me to be convinced?

"I didn't see enough, to be honest."

Former Australian bowler Kerry O'Keeffe agreed

"I think he was unlucky. I think he brushed the pad with his bat. There's no hot spot anymore, that would have shown it up," he says.

"Rahul was disappointed, you tend to know.

"He threw his arms up in the air.

"The umpires' decision is final."

Well, what a session for the Aussies, with not a small amount of controversy with that wicket of KL Rahul.

There is every chance that he was out, the ball just flicking the bat on its way through, but I am surprised that the third umpire overturned the decision based on the evidence that he was shown.

That being said, Australia have been stunningly good in that first two hours of cricket.

Mitch Starc has been almost unplayable, 2-10 off his eight overs. Josh Hazlewood has identical figures having been just as good.

Miserly bowling from two of the best to do it in the world, and they have India in all sorts of trouble at 4-51.

BEATEN! Oh my word what a ball, seaming and leaving the defensively positioned bat of the right handed Jurel. What a ball.

Solid defence. There is a bat-pad in place, but Juriel played the ball well short of him.

That was another vicious ball into the body that he fends at, the ball flying just backward of short leg.

There are three slips, a gully and a point, plus the bat pad.

CLOSE! McSweeney couldn't get his left hand up at gully in time - it was so fast and flew through the cordon. It's FOUR.

Solid defence from Jurel this time.

A yorker, punched into the off side for no run.

Solid defence from Pant to the first couple as Lyon comes around the wicket, drifting the ball into Pant.

Now he leaves as Lyon just dangles a tempter outside off.

Lyon gets lovely shape that's drifting to the leg side as it hits the pads. A half-hearted appeal draws no interest.

Jurel is the new man in.

CLOSE! That's a beauty, just moving in a little bit and catching the inside edge before hammering into the pad.

KL Rahul is adamant that he did not hit that.

He definitely hit his pad with his bat, there was only one sound.

Rahul is not happy as he walks off, 26 off 74 balls, India 4-47.

Interesting call.

I think that's a very hard one to tell what exactly happened.

I am surprised that there was enough evidence there to overturn the on field decision of not out.

Is the fact that he hit his pad obfuscating the fact that he did feather it?

"I just think there's enough doubt there not to give the decision," Michael Hussey says in the Fox box.

"I don't think he had any choice other than to give it out," says Tom Moody on ABC.

BEATEN! Starc is bowling as if he has a hand injury - really, really well. That one has flown across the face of Rahul's bat.

There was absolutely a noise as it went past the bat. Could it be bat on pad?

BIG APPEAL! Pant is rapped on the pad, I think it was going down leg on first viewing...

I think this is high and wide down leg.

Yorker from Starc, Pant clips it away to midwicket but there is no run.

Pant fends to midwicket again, another solid defensive shot.

GOT HIM! Right in the upper thigh, a decent shot from Starc that Pant will be feeling for a little bit.

Pant drives expansively through cover and will take three runs.

Rahul defends the last.

Well the bowling is excellent. Did not think they could get better but they have. Wonderful stuff. Makes an old heart glad. Macsweeney , first touch in test cricket,catch Wonderful for him.

Outside off, Rahul gets a stride in and lets the ball fly through to the keeper. Cummins completes his follow through with a smile on his face.

Solid defence from Rahul this time as Cummins straightens his line.

Wide from Cummins, a tempter that Rahul resists and plays inside the line, comfortably.

Over the wicket, left-hander Pant leaves the ball as it flashes across his face.

Pant drives, one handed such with the venom which he thrashed at that ball, but beating a diving point and he gets three out to deep point.

Rahul drives to point this time, straight to point though and there is no run.

EDGED! Just short of third slip! No chance for Marnus to dive forward there, soft hands from KL Rahul saves him there.

Rahul clips off his pads for a single to fine leg.

Pant fends the last of the over.

Every wicket of Kohli will be key in this series.

It always is when India play.

But I do have a sneaky he won't be the key factor in this series.
