The Kid LAROI was initially scheduled to tour back in February, but now that the tour has been rescheduled to November, it’s all worth the wait. There was a definite buzz of anticipation as the audience filled the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Rap artist Quavo was unable to perform, so Kid LAROI’s DJ, TJ Mizell took to the decks to warm up the crowd. His blend of songs such as Travis Scott‘s “FE!N” and “Lucid Dreams” by Juice WRLD  went down a treat with the audience. It was a perfect way to set the mood for what was to come.

ONEFOUR bounded on stage with infectious energy that was hard to beat. Starting with “In the Beginning” they morphed into “Gang Ties” and “Home and Away”. Crowd pleasers included “Welcome to Prison” and “COMMA’S”.

But it was the Kid LAROI that the audience were there to see. Making a stealthy entrance on the decks to “Baby I’m Back” from his latest album, The First Time it was high energy from the start, including dramatic fire plumes at the front of the stage. He followed up with “Sorry” and “What’s the Move?” from the same album. The focus was on the new album, but there was a poignant moment when he recounted his friendship with an early mentor, the late Juice WRLD, introducing the song “GO” from the F*ck Love album.

For someone barley out of his teens, LAROI has a maturity that defies his years. From his songwriting and singing skills, to the lighting and spectacle of the stage show, he has obviously paid attention to those who have helped shape his career. His ability to own the stage is noteworthy. Songs such as “Love Again” and “Without You” were crowd favourites, with the whole stadium lit up to a sea of phone lights. He confessed that he doesn’t always like some of his earlier songs, but this was definitely a highlight.

After playing his latest single “Aperol Spritz” he invited ONEFOUR back on stage to perform “My City” before launching into the Justin Bieber mega-hit collaboration “Stay.” Finishing off with “Nights Like This”, the assembled throng exited the stadium, exhausted but happy. A fantastic night of music from a talented and quickly maturing young singer.
