The Weeknd debuts new songs, brings out Playboi Carti & Anitta at massive São Paulo concert — gig report

Diamond-certified global superstar The Weeknd debuted his never-before-seen stage production to over 70,000 fans during his sold-out 'One Night Only' event in São Paulo, Brazil at Estádio MorumBI.

Special guests Playboi Carti came out to perform two songs, before Anitta surprised audiences by appearing on top of the ancient building on stage disguised as one of The Weeknd’s dancers.

Abel Tesfaye also premiered several new songs that are presumably from his forthcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The tracklist has yet to be unveiled, and Tesfaye didn’t introduce songs by name, but based on what was teased during the show, speculative titles include 'Dancing in the Flames', 'Run Away' and 'In Heaven'.

Once The Weeknd concluded the show, a massive fleet of 150 drones appeared in the sky, spelling out the name of his highly anticipated next project.  The album is set to be the culmination of his trilogy of studio albums, following Dawn FM (2022) and After Hours (2020).

The artist also officially unveiled the cover art of his heavily anticipated upcoming album, which is available for vinyl and CD pre-order here.
