Tom Cruise goes wild for video of Sunrise's Matt Shirvington's ...
He may have spent his life surrounded by some of the biggest Hollywood A-listers but actor Tom Cruise was left captivated by Sunrise host’s Matt Shirvington’s Olympic Games past.
The Mission: Impossible star appeared on the Channel 7 breakfast show on Monday morning, where fans gathered outside the Sydney studio to chant his name and hold up banners.

However, it was a video of Matt Shirvington partaking in the 100m run at the year 2000 event that really impressed Tom.
“Tom, I've gotta be honest with you, as a kid growing up I was a sprinter and went to the Olympic Games as a sprinter,” Matt started the segment.
“Did you? Wow, what year were you? “ a very intrigued Tom asked.

Tom looked up at the screen to see Shirvo dressed patriotically in yellow and green as he dashed in the competition, alongside a video of the actor running in his action movies.
“Look at that. You're a great runner. I'm a good runner,” Tom said, going on to explain that while he does a lot of running in his films, he doesn’t get much help with training.
“I've just been an athlete, my whole life, gymnastics and I love to sprint. I came out running,” he said.
“I was like that little kid that was just I get a new pair of sneakers and you just got to hit every puddle and you're sprinting. And I've had not a lot of training, you know, but sometimes through the years I just get a little bit of coaching and I had different coaches when you're growing up.

“You know what I do, I watch people, I study and then I try different things on my own and I really am someone who I'll watch someone and then I'll imitate them. And then I read about other people's training and I'll train with different Olympians or you know, I'm constantly studying.”
Shirvo then jumped in saying: “If you ever need a coach, let me know.”
