Ange Postecoglou's side headed into the international break in first place and, although results this weekend saw Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool leapfrog them, victory against the Cottagers would give Spurs a two-point lead over Pep Guardiola's champions at the summit.

Fulham lie 13th, with their three wins in the league so far this term having come against struggling trio Everton, Luton and Sheffield United.

The Sporting News will be following the Tottenham versus Fulham match live, providing score updates, commentary and highlights as they happen.

Tottenham vs Fulham live updates, highlights, and commentary

8th minute: Kulusevski slips a pass through to Porro and Robinson fouls him juuusssttt outside the box.

7th minute: Palhinha leaves another hefty whack on Maddison, who's running the game but finding that to be a painful business. Can Spurs make better use of this free-kick. Maddison chip to the far post, Romero nods back and Van de Ven volleys over. Good chance.

5th minute: Richarlison's cross is headed away by Ream and there's an offside in there somewhere to give Fulham some respite. This has all been heavily one-way traffic so far, though.

3rd minute: Maddison got absolutely clobbered playing that pass and has a free-kick in a shooting position. He tries to slip a short pass to Udogie, who clearly did not get the one-from-the-training-ground memo.

2nd minute: Palhinha snuffs out a Spurs attack looking for Maddison. He's going to get through some work tonight, you expect. Spurs in the ball back high up, Maddison slips a lovely pass through to Son and Leno comes out to make a find early stop.

3 mins prior to kickoff: The teams are out and we're almost ready to get going.

20 mins prior to kickoff: If Spurs win tonight, Postecoglou will set a new record for the most points gained by a manager in their first nine Premier League matches. Victory would move his side on to 23 points. The current record of 22 points is jointly held by Guus Hiddink and Mike Walker.

40 mins prior to kickoff: We've been over Fulham's dismal league record in this fixture but they pulled through when the sides met in the Carabao Cup this year. After a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, Silva's side win in penalties.

"I think we are just focussed on this game tonight. In the space of two months [since that defeat] we have only improved so we just need to focus on that, and have our minds on this game in front of us," Tottenham goalkeeper Gugliemo Vicario told Sky Sports.

58 mins prior to kickoff: Calvin Bassey makes his second Fulham start. On his first he was sent off against Arsenal. At the other end of the pitch, forward Carlos Vinicius starts against his former club.

1 hr 15 mins prior to kickoff: Team news is a quarter of an hour away. The big question for Postecoglou is who fills in for Yves Bissouma, who earned a rash red card at Luton last time out. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg looks like the favourite to slot in, but don't rule out Ange going for something a little more funky.

1 hr 40 mins prior to kickoff: Tottenham are on the crest of a wave at the moment but, even when they haven't been in the best form, this fixture has tended to be kind to them. Spurs have won seven of the most recent eight Premier League meetings. Fulham claimed a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their only measure of success during this ongoing slump in January 2021. For the Cottagers' most recent league win over Spurs you have to go back to a 1-0 triumph at White Hart Lane in 2013..

2 hours prior to kickoff: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News' live coverage of Tottenham versus Fulham. Can Ange Postecoglou's side maintain their unbeaten form this season? A win will take them back above champions Manchester City and to the top of the table.
