You have to go back more than a fortnight for Tottenham's last Premier League game.
Their final match before the international break took them to Luton where they were expected to cruise to another win.
However, a string of squandered chances and a red card for Yves Bissouma left them staring at a stumble that would have been typical of a pre-Postecoglou Spurs team.
The 10 men of Tottenham were able to find a breakthrough in the second half as Van de Ven stabbed home for his first Premier League goal.
A huge sigh of relief and another step in the right direction.

And for anyone who hasn't noticed it from the last post, it is that Tottenham will go to the top of the Premier League with a victory later on.
They are fourth heading into the game, but a win will move them two points clear at the summit.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool fans will be hoping for a favour from Fulham.
Aston Villa's impressive victory against West Ham yesterday further stamped their authority on the Premier League's elite.
They moved into fifth but, as you might have noticed below, a big opportunity has arisen for Tottenham...

Aston Villa 4-1 West Ham (Luiz [x2], Watkins, Bailey; Bowen)Ange Postecoglou has been feeling similarly optimistic ahead of today’s game and used a section of his pre-match press conference to deliver a positive injury update.
“Everyone’s back, the medical reports are good,” he said in his first media appearance following the international break. “There’s no issues around the guys from a fitness perspective. We’ve got a few senior international debuts too, Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven. It’s been a good break. Gio Lo Celso also played for Argentina.
“Brennan Johnson has trained the last few days with the boys who stayed back. In terms of the match being on Monday night should help us. We’ll see how it goes.
“Rodrigo Bentancur, we will be careful. He’s fully training. He’s been fed into training the last month. We’ve got to be mindful, he’s missed a lot of football. He’s looking good in training. Looking forward to get him back.”

Fulham boss Marco Silva admitted on Friday that he was relieved to learn Fulham would return to Premier League action on a Monday night after the recent international break. believes playing a Monday night game will be helpful as his side continue their preparations to face Tottenham.
After Saturday’s round of fixtures, Fulham are currently 13th in the table with three wins and three losses from their opening eight league games.
He told his pre-match press conference: “Definitely, for us and for Tottenham it's a different scenario because normally you have these games on a Saturday or at least on a Sunday and it's different.
“Some players have trained on Friday morning and when you have more than two days to prepare the game is always a good help, you cannot hide that situation for us and for Tottenham.
“As you know we had a very important result before the break, when you have just nine senior players, of course it's not the best number.
“We had some young players to complete the sessions so that we had more numbers to do what we wanted to do in that period.
“It was a good moment to keep the shape in most of them and to improve the physical condition from others that needed it as well, they have been working hard.”

Tottenham have won seven of the eight most recent Premier League meetings, with the exception a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January 2021.
Fulham’s solitary league win against Tottenham in the past 17 attempts was by 1-0 at White Hart Lane in March 2013. They have failed to score more than once in any of those 17 games.
But Fulham did beat Spurs 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in the EFL Cup second round in August.
First-choice centre-back Issa Diop has been ruled out of today’s game because of a foot problem. Tosin Adarabioyo — who was persistently linked to Tottenham in the summer transfer window — Adama Traore and Kenny Tete all remain unavailable.

Tottenham will be without the suspended Yves Bissouma so fellow central midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will likely earn a first Premier League start this season.
Club captain Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero have both overcome minor injuries sustained on international duty, while summer signing Brennan Johnson has trained for the past two weeks and could also be involved.
The game, which starts at 8pm BST, will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the United Kingdom.
In the United States, where it gets underway at 3pm ET and 12pm PT, it will be screened on USA, Universo and Fubo.
