#85: beabadoobee — Glue SongThere've been six Hottest 100 debuts so far

That means there are 28 to go...

Any acts you're hoping will make a Hottest 100 for the first time?

Me? I want Peggy Gou, Little Simz, Miss Kaninna, and Burna Boy to make it.

#86: Labrinth — Never Felt So Alone

Big ups to my Euphoria fans

Welcome back to the countdown, Skrillex

Skrillex drops into the annual Hottest 100 for the fifth year (he also made the Hottest 100 of the decade in 2020).

The dubstep icon hasn't made the yearly countdown since way back in 2015, and just quietly I reckon we'll hear him again today.

Personally, I've never liked Skrillex. Just not my vibe. So, imagine my surprise that I actually voted for the guy in this year's Hottest 100!

If 'Baby again..' (a song he did with Fred again.. and Four Tet) doesn't make the top 20 I will be writing a letter.

#87: Skrillex & Boys Noize — Fine Day Anthem#88: Teenage Dads — Midnight Driving

In case you missed it! Here are all the tunes we heard from #100 to #91

#89: The Last Dinner Party — Nothing MattersVale Polaris guitarist Ryan Siew

LONG LIVE RYAN SIEW ????️

- Goran

Well said, Goran. Nothing more needs to be said.

Vale to one of the greatest guitarists in heavy music on the planet. A brilliant talent gone way too soon.

Congrats to Polaris on their first annual Hottest 100 slot (they hit #55 in the Like A Version Hottest 100 last year)

#90: Polaris — NightmareAustralia loves Lana

Lana Del Rey is Hottest 100 royalty.

She's featured in the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021 and now 2023 countdowns.

She also appeared in 2013's list of the Hottest 100 of the past 20 years, and 2020's Hottest 100 of the decade.

#91: Lana Del Rey — Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd

My first vote to get into the countdown! But considering the love for the album this track comes from, this might not be the last we see of Ms Lana today.

#92: Pacific Avenue — Strawberry DaydreamsWhat's the ONE song you're REALLY hoping for?

I want all 10 of my votes to get in, but if I could only have one, it'd be Miss Kaninna - Blak Britney

Why?

The song is a deadset scorcherIt's her first eligible year - we love a debutante! She's an incredible live artistSeriously, the song is sooooo goodNo really - it's a great song
#93: The Terrys — No Bad Days#94: MAY-A — Sweat You Out My System

One of last year's Hottest 100 winners making her first appearance in the 2023 countdown!

#95: Nothing But Thieves — Welcome to the DCC

Aussie Crawl in the Hottest 100!!!

This is not a test!

You might have heard a familiar sample in Chillinit's Boys Light Up, which came in at number 96.

That's because it borrows from Australian Crawl's 1981 CLASSIC of the same name.

To my knowledge, this is the first time that Aussie Crawl has made the Hottest 100. The 80s Aussie icons, led by James Reyne, broke up well before the Hottest 100 was a thing.

Personally, I think they're one of the greatest bands we ever produced and the quintessential summer band.

So stoked to have them in the countdown, and HUGE props to Chillinit for flipping such a classic and spinning it into Hottest 100 gold.

#96: Chillinit — Boys Light UpSome personal news

I voted for boygenius AND Genesis Owusu.

But not these songs.

Gee I really hope we hear more from them today.

How are your votes going so far?
